Description
About Sips
Sips is a fast-growing, design-led reusable water bottle brand, with retail partnerships across the UK, USA and Australia, including Anthropologie.
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on EU Product Compliance Consultant to take ownership of our outstanding compliance requirements and support our European expansion, with the aim of making significant progress ahead of an EU trade show in January 2027.
Current Position
We have completed EU food-contact testing and obtained supporting documentation and Declarations of Compliance. We are also working with Euverify on GPSR requirements but need support finalising outstanding compliance work, implementing PPWR/EPR requirements and establishing an EU distribution structure.
Key Responsibilities
- EU Compliance: Review existing food-contact testing, Declarations of Compliance, technical documentation, REACH and GPSR requirements, identifying and resolving outstanding gaps.
- Packaging: Take ownership of PPWR/EPR compliance, including finalising our belly band packaging, labelling and relevant EU registrations.
- Traceability: Implement batch/lot coding, supply chain traceability and product recall procedures.
- Factory Coordination: Liaise directly with our factory in China, suppliers and testing laboratories to obtain documentation and implement necessary changes.
- EU 3PL: Research, select and support onboarding an EU 3PL (preferably in the Netherlands), including assessing food-contact business operator responsibilities under Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004, Article 15(1)(c).
- Ongoing Compliance: Establish practical processes to maintain compliance across existing and future products, supporting both D2C and B2B sales channels.
Experience Required
- Extensive experience in EU product compliance, particularly food-contact materials and plastic consumer products.
- Strong working knowledge of PPWR, EPR, GPSR and REACH.
- Experience working directly with overseas factories and suppliers.
- Experience supporting both D2C and B2B consumer brands.
- Understanding of EU importation, distribution and 3PL operations would be advantageous.
What We’re Looking For
This is a hands-on role, not simply an advisory position. We need someone who can independently manage the project, coordinate with external partners and deliver practical results. This would be an immediate start, so please only apply if you can start asap.
To apply: Please share your CV, relevant experience, availability and proposed day rate or project fee.
