We’re looking for a Finance Manager with a background working with Hospitality businesses.

As Finance Manager in our Hospitality team, you will oversee the finance functions for some of our fantastic clients operating in the Hospitality sector (top-notch cafés, bars & restaurants, live venues and more). Delivering outstanding service by providing the best possible support & advice, and integrating into the clients’ wider teams, you will also act as the key contact to Directors & shareholders.

This role will involve managing our bookkeeping and payroll teams to ensure they deliver and exceed client expectations, as well as ensuring work is done within the budgeted timeframe and meets deadlines – being hands on when needed. You will also play an integral part in helping to grow & develop Bitesize Consulting as a practice. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage best-in-class finance function for clients, maintaining accounting records to relevant standards
  • Complete all month-end activities accurately and on time, including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee AR/AP ledgers, ensuring full reconciliation
  • Review and file VAT returns
  • Oversee P&Ls, management accounts, and Board packs; review, challenge results, and provide commentary to partners
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and budget preparation assistance
  • Manage short-term cash flow forecasts and supplier payment run processes
  • Oversee payroll to ensure accurate, timely payment of partner employees
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and secure improved supplier credit terms
  • Understand all relevant systems, ensure accurate data flow, and resolve knowledge gaps through training
  • Serve as main contact for HMRC queries, external accountants, and advisers
  • Oversee junior Finance Team to ensure routine processes are completed to highest standards with maximum efficiency and accuracy
  • Document finance procedures and continually improve processes, identifying efficiencies and time/cost-saving opportunities

We’re looking for someone who doesn’t shy away from a challenge and is able to keep a cool head when things get hectic. Your time will be split across working with the team in our London-based office, visiting partner locations and working from home. You’ll need to be confident in handling multiple communication channels and managing parallel deadlines. Things move pretty fast in small businesses, so we’re looking for someone who can adapt quickly and is happy to embrace change within our partners’ businesses, as well as our own.

– Experience working in a finance role within the hospitality industry.

– Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel skills

– Extensive experience using accounting software e.g. Xero & other app-based systems

– Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) (or similar)
