About the Role:

As a Nursery Assistant, you’ll help create a safe, fun, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and thrive. You’ll support daily routines, encourage children’s development, and work closely with colleagues and parents to ensure every child has a positive nursery experience.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Support Key Teachers and Senior Key Teachers in delivering daily routines, activities, and care
    • Engage with children in meaningful play and learning experiences. 
    • Help set up and maintain stimulating and safe environments
    • Assist Key Teachers with observations, assessments, and recordkeeping for key children. 
    • Provide daily feedback to parents when required. 
    • Act as a role model for Assistants and apprentices, supporting them to learn best practice. 
    • Help with training new team members in routines, safeguarding, and compliance expectations. 
    • Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance policies
    • Support with daily risk assessments, accident forms, and attendance checks
    • Provide friendly, professional communication with parents at drop‑off and pick‑up. 
    • Support Key Teachers in giving updates on children’s routines and wellbeing.

    • Previous nursery or childcare experience preferred
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Good understanding of safeguarding and health & safety
    • Reliable and professional attitude
