At 22 Music School, we believe music has the power to transform lives. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and inspiring Band Leader to lead our popular Amplify Academy sessions while becoming part of our growing teaching team.

This role is ideal for someone who loves working with young musicians, enjoys coaching bands, and wants to be part of a school that values creativity, commitment and building long-term relationships with students.

About Amplify Academy

Amplify Academy is our weekly band programme where young musicians come together to rehearse, develop performance skills, build confidence and experience playing as part of a live band. Our focus is on creating an exciting, supportive environment where every student can thrive regardless of ability.

The Role

You will:

  • Lead weekly Amplify Academy band rehearsals.
  • Coach students in ensemble performance and musicianship.
  • Prepare bands for live performances and concerts.
  • Inspire confidence, teamwork and musical creativity.
  • Adapt rehearsals to suit different ages and abilities.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents and the management team.
  • Help create an engaging and enjoyable learning environment.

As our student numbers continue to grow, there will be opportunities to take on:

  • One-to-one instrumental tuition
  • Small group teaching
  • Holiday workshops
  • School outreach projects
  • Alternative Provision and therapeutic music sessions (where appropriate)

We are looking for someone interested in becoming a long-term member of our teaching team.

  • Is an experienced musician with strong performance skills.
  • Can confidently lead rehearsals and motivate groups.
  • Has experience teaching children and young people.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learning styles and age groups.
  • Is reliable, professional and organised.
  • Shares our values of commitment, respect and high-quality education.
  • Is passionate about helping young people develop through music.
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Has the right to work in the UK.

Teaching qualifications are welcomed but not essential. Personality, musicianship and the ability to inspire young people are just as important.
