This is an opportunity to lead the development, implementation and optimisation of photovoltaic module manufacturing processes, ensuring products are consistently produced in accordance with quality, engineering, technical and customer requirements.

Reporting to the Deputy Director Operations and working as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with Production, Equipment, Quality, Supply Chain, WHS and R&D functions to establish robust manufacturing systems, improve process capability and support the successful commissioning, ramp-up and scale-up of advanced solar manufacturing operations.

You will provide technical leadership across manufacturing processes, process controls, engineering standards, validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, yield and operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation and optimisation of photovoltaic module manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient and compliant production operations.
  • Establish and maintain process specifications, operating procedures, process control plans, engineering standards and manufacturing documentation to support product quality and process capability.
  • Monitor and analyse manufacturing performance, including process capability, yield, defect rates, scrap and rework, and implement improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Lead process investigations, root cause analysis, process validation activities and corrective actions to resolve manufacturing issues and improve process reliability.
  • Support factory commissioning, production ramp-up and manufacturing scale-up activities through process validation, technical problem-solving and implementation of manufacturing best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to the Process Team and collaborate with Production, Quality, Equipment, Supply Chain and R&D teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering or process management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and optimising manufacturing processes, process controls, standard operating procedures and engineering standards.
  • Experience analysing process performance, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing solutions to improve product quality, production efficiency, yield and cost performance.
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement, root cause analysis, statistical process control (SPC), Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading process validation, risk assessment, production support and manufacturing scale-up activities.
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership, manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve operational objectives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to make sound engineering decisions in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in solar module manufacturing is highly desirable. Experience in semiconductor, battery, electronics, advanced materials or other high-volume manufacturing industries will also be highly regarded.
