THE ROLE

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Hand to join our team at our hospitality venue in Cape Schanck, Victoria. This casual role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the catering industry. The Kitchen Hand will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring a clean and efficient working environment, and assisting chefs in food preparation. This position is perfect for entry-level candidates eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of food items as directed by the chefs
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food preparation areas
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
• Help with the storage and handling of food supplies
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times

Qualifications:

• No formal education required; however, a passion for food and hospitality is essential
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage but not necessary
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
