The opportunity

StewartBrown is seeking an enthusiastic Intermediate Accountant to join our Business Services Team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience working as an accountant in a professional services environment. The successful candidate will be supported to develop and grow by:

What you can offer StewartBrown

As a Business Services Accountant, you will

  • Assist clients with a range of financial services, offering contemporary accounting advice and solutions.
  • Prepare and present targeted financial and non-financial information.
  • Prepare working papers, financial statements, reconciliations, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Liaise with clients and the Australian Tax Office (ATO) to resolve queries and provide timely support.
  • Work collaboratively and independently within a high-functioning team.
  • Deliver outstanding service to clients, ensuring their needs are met with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Provide benchmarking reports and evaluate client accounting systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS for sole traders, individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts, ensuring all tax laws are understood and applied to your tasks.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a qualification in Commerce or Accounting
  • Bring at least 3 years’ experience in a professional services or accounting role.
  • Be an effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Have a passion for delivering exceptional service customer service to internal and external clients
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and organisational skills.
  • Be a committed team player with a focus on quality improvement and best practices.
  • Hold Australian citizenship or residency or legal working entitlements within Australia.
