Disability Support Worker

Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to provide assistance and support to a female client with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping our client with daily living activities, providing emotional support, responding to challenging behaviours, promoting independence and community integration.

Responsibilities:

• Assist client with daily living activities
• Provide emotional support and companionship
• Assist with medication and monitor health conditions
• Assist with meal preparation and household tasks
• Develop and implement individualised care plans
• Respond to challenging behaviours
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for clients
• Maintain accurate records and documentation

Qualifications:

• Certification in disability support or related field highly regarded but not essential
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities highly regarded but not essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• Ability to handle challenging behaviors and situations
• Well developed problem solving skills and high levels of resilience
• Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy
