Disability Support Worker

ROLE PURPOSE:

This role is accountable for providing excellent service to all of our clients. Services may include:

• Skills and Capacity Building

• Community Access

• Therapy Assistance

• Personal Care activities

• Respite

• Domestic Assistance

• Meal Preparation

Work is undertaken in the context of supporting the client to maintain their well-being, explore opportunities and work towards agreed outcomes that are important to, and for, the client.

Person-Centered Customer Service

• Ensure 100% client satisfaction.

• Respect what is important to each client supported and assist them to explore relevant opportunities.

• Contribute to each client’s support to help them achieve their personal goals (including NDIS goals).

• Actively contribute encourages and engages each client supported to make independent decisions to their level of capability.

• Model person-centered approaches for other team members; providing appropriate guidance and support.

Relevant Work Experience:

• Experience in the disability industry; NDIS or Supported Housing. (Ideally 6 months minimum experience)

• Behaviors of concerns experience (in some cases restrictive practices experience)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of Cert III in Disability or equivalent (preference for Certificate IV). or willingness to sign up within 3 months of starting with PLS.

• Current First Aid (To be renewed on a 3-yearly basis)

• Current CPR or willingness to obtain (To be renewed on a 1-year basis).

• Current clear NDIS Worker Screening check (NDISWC).

• Working with Children Check (WWCC).

• Australian working rights

• Drivers License

• Comprehensive Car insurance
