Chief Medical Officer

Summary:

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for leading the medical team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients. The CMO works closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic plans for the organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a strategic plan that aligns with the organisation’s mission and goals.
• Develop clinical policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
• Oversee physician recruitment and training to ensure that the medical staff delivers the best quality care and services.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, organisations, and institutions.
• Develop and monitor clinical standards and protocols to improve the quality of care and patient outcomes.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
• Monitor and analyse healthcare trends and developments to identify new service opportunities and to stay ahead of the competition.
• Implement and manage clinical and financial performance metrics to ensure delivery of high-quality care that maximises financial performance.
• Develop and monitor clinical performance standards and metrics to ensure compliance with key performance indicator.

Qualifications:

• Medical Degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
• Board certification as a medical specialist or sub-specialist.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical leadership role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and standards.
• Experience in managing physician recruitment and retention, clinical operations and quality improvement, and financial management.
• Ability to develop and implement effective strategic plans that align with organisation objectives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
