Would you like to make a difference in the community and help people with physical and mental disability Origin Support Services is a growing company located in Townsville.

Origin Support Services provide individualised and tailored care to support people living with disabilities. Origin Support Services offer a wide range of support services and programs to our people living with Disabilities and their families.

Includes:

• Community Access (CAS)

• Supported Independent Living (SIL)

• Respite Care and Short-Term Accommodation (STA)

Are you looking for casual employment that has a flexible working roster that includes weekends, overnight stays available for the experienced DSWs.

This position could lead into part or full-time progression for the right staff member.

Experience is preferred but not essential. We will provide you with on-the-job and online training.

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference?

As a DSW you will be responsible for providing support and care participants both in the home and out in the community, assisting with day-to-day activities while encouraging independence and respecting choice and control.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting participants with day-to-day activities

• Building relationships with participants

• Providing Support in a SIL house environment

• Providing community access to participants with grocery shopping, cleaning, recreational activities and taking to appointments.

• General cooking and domestic duties; including but not limited to cleaning, laundry, food preparation, activities, medication and taking to appointments.

• Must have computer experience for – recording detailed Incident Reports and entering shift notes

• Ensuring the participants needs are being met, paying particular focus to the goals outlined in the NDIS plan.

About You

The successful applicant MUST have:

• Yellow Card (or willing to apply)

• Blue Card (or willing to apply)

• Third party car insurance and use of your own motor vehicle for transporting participants

• Drivers Licence

• Full working rights within Australia

• Must have good availability – able to work weekends and nights

Female

Desirable (but not essential):

• Certificate 3 or above in community services or individual support

• Experience with high intensity supports

• Experience in a similar role will be highly advantageous
