To achieve Neuplan’s aspirations for further company growth, we now seek a strategic, goal-oriented, and construction industry-based Commercial Manager, with client and contractor side experience in EPC and EPCM project delivery models.

About the role

Whether providing short-term support on a specific task or support for a long-term project assignment, our consultants either integrate into clients’ existing teams on specific assignments or undertake the work from our Applecross and/or West Perth offices. Supported by a team of highly skilled project management professionals, our consultants provide multidisciplinary assistance to clients at every stage of the project life cycle.

Our clients’ operations are broad and include civil, structural and mechanical construction projects in respect of multiple commodities, including gold, iron ore, coal, lithium and rare earths.

Areas of work in which you can expect to be involved:

• contract management, senior-level contract administration and commercial services, including contract negotiation, preparing notices and directions

• tender package preparation, negotiation and award

• conceiving and delivering procurement strategies

• commercial set-up of projects (including project controls, procurement, head contract manual preparation, and procedural implementation)

• claims preparation and assessment (extensions of time, variations and costs)

• risk management

• contractor and client-side exposure

• owner’s representative and superintendency services

• helping establish small commercial teams embedded within clients

• supervising and/or guiding Neuplan contract administrators

Key requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications including a construction management degree, quantity surveying, legal or engineering.

• Minimum 8-10+ years’ relevant post-qualification experience.

• Ideally 5+ years’ WA based mining and resources project experience, delivering EPC and EPCM projects.

• Contractor-side commercial management will be well regarded.

• Desire to oversee and mentor growing talent within the business.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be eligible to work in Australia and currently reside in Western Australia.
