ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We’re looking for a talented and experienced Building Designer or Architect who’s passionate about residential development and thrives on delivering high-quality, creative, and commercially smart design solutions. At Duplex Building Design, we specialise in designing and managing the approval process for duplexes and multi-dwelling residential developments across NSW.
In this role, you’ll lead projects from feasibility sketch through concept design, design development and DA/CDC/CC drawings working alongside consultants and helping clients bring their development project visions to life. RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Prepare high-quality Feasibility sketches for development projects
● Prepare concept design and design development drawings for duplexes, dual occupancies and multi dwelling developments
● Liaise with engineers, planners, certifiers, and other consultants as part of the approval process
● Collaborate with clients to ensure designs align with project goals, budgets, and profitability
● Maintain a deep understanding of planning legislation, design codes, and building regulations
CAPABILITIES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
● 5+ years of relevant industry experience in residential building design or architecture
● Strong knowledge of NSW planning codes (LEPs, DCPs, Low Rise Housing Diversity Code)
●Experience working on duplex, dual occupancy or townhouse developments
● Proficiency in design software (Revit is essential)
● Experience preparing DA/CDC and managing consultant coordination
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients and consultants
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
● Diploma of Building Design or Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent
● NSW Drivers License
SELECTION CRITERIA
Proven track record in residential design especially duplex and townhouse projects
Ability to produce accurate, high-quality documentation and manage project timelines
Strong understanding of NSW planning systems and residential building regulations
Communication and collaboration skills with clients, team members, and consultants
