Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth, efficient service
- Supervise, train and mentor all levels of kitchen staff
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard
- Manage food preparation and cooking processes during service periods
- Monitor portion control, food quality and presentation standards
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections and enforce cleanliness standards
- Manage stock levels, ordering and inventory control to minimize waste
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure the quality of stock received is to our agreed standard
- Control kitchen costs, including food cost, labour, and waste management
- Manage, develop and implement standard recipes and procedures
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
- Handle customer feedback related to food quality and kitchen service
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of kitchen equipment
- Implement and enforce workplace health and safety procedures
- Assist with rostering, staff scheduling, and performance management
- Support the team to continuously improve kitchen operations, efficiency, team culture and team performance
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Chef, Cook, Pizza Chef or Pizza Cook in a fast-paced, high standard and high-volume kitchen
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- A genuine passion for food, creativity and hospitality
- Understanding of kitchen financials, including COGS and labour control
- High level of organisation and time management
- Ability to perform under pressure without compromising standards
- Sound knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
