Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Engineering
  • 1 + years’ experience in an engineering role
  • Undertaken self-assessment process for gaining CPEng Status
  • Previous experience using any of the following would be an advantage: structural design software (RAM, RAPT, Structural Toolkit, Inducta, etabs) Civil design software (Autocad, Autocad Civil 3D, 12D, Drains Flood Modelling software (Tuflow, XPSWMM, eXPRafts etc)
  • Good to excellent technical report writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Duties:

  • Provide engineering design input into civil engineering projects undertaken by the company.
  • Develop practical designs in a timely manner that are appropriate to the project and client’s needs, ensuring documentation is accurate and correct prior to use.       
  • Ensure all designs are checked and approved by the relevant Senior Engineer/RPEQ prior to issue or forwarding to the relevant authorities or other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the Senior Engineer/RPEQ is promptly advised of design issues or other adverse situations that could materially impact on the project.        
  • Maintain knowledge and competence in the use of design software deemed necessary to complete projects.
  • Undertake site inspections for individual projects, as required.
  • Assist in managing project deliverables on time and within the budget.
  • Identify, manage and minimise project risks.
