THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Administration Officer to support the daily operational functions of our timber & truss business. Initially offered as a maternity leave contract (38 hours per week), there is potential for ongoing employment for the right candidate, subject to business requirements and performance. This role is essential in ensuring smooth coordination with all the administration tasks to assist the team. The ideal candidate will bring strong administrative skills, a proactive mindset, and a solid understanding of operational processes within a timber or similar supply chain-driven industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Strong commitment to safety, health & environmental responsibility
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including stock levels, delivery schedules, and purchase orders.
  • Manage correspondence, filing, and document control related to operations.
  • Assist in ordering timber products, consumables, and equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining stock control systems and flag discrepancies.
  • Help maintain records of safety inspections and staff training
  • General administration tasks as required

 

QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERIENCE | CAPABILITIES

  • Previous experience in an administrative or operations role (timber, manufacturing, or logistics preferred).
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of timber grades, measurements, or industry terminology (desirable but not essential).
  • Proactive, positive and solutions focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
