Summary:

As a Support Worker in the Aged Care and Disability Sector, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need. Your primary focus will be to provide compassionate support and assistance to clients, helping them achieve their personal goals and fostering independence. This position is essential for promoting community well-being and ensuring that all individuals receive the care and attention they deserve.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to clients in accordance with their individual care plans.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication management, and personal hygiene.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other professionals.
  • Monitor and report on clients’ progress and any changes in their condition to the appropriate team members.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field.
  • Support clients in engaging with community resources and activities to promote social inclusion.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and organisational policies.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in Community Services, Health, or Social Care (e.g., Certificate III in Individual Support).
  • Previous experience in a support or care role, preferably within the community services sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Empathy and a genuine desire to help others, with a focus on client-centred care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle may be required.
