We have partnered with AIEF to find an Alumni Engagement partner to join this passionate and high performing team based in Surry Hills. AIEF provides scholarship funding for Indigenous students to complete Year 12 or tertiary studies, alongside career support to help them successfully transition into employment.

About the role

Working within the Alumni Engagement team, you’ll help coordinate the activities that keep AIEF’s student and alumni community connected. This is a varied, hands-on position combining program coordination, administration, events, communications and relationship building.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Coordinating student welcome and alumni graduation packs
  • Supporting AIEF’s annual Alumni Survey and reporting
  • Helping deliver speaker events and other alumni engagement activities
  • Supporting Pathways Conferences for AIEF Scholarship Students in Years 9–12
  • Maintaining alumni information and records within the CRM
  • Supporting communications across LinkedIn and Facebook
  • Assisting with reporting, research and general program administration
  • Helping alumni access Board and committee opportunities
  • In time, supporting AIEF’s Alumni Mentoring Portal, connecting alumni with Corporate Partners and advocate volunteers.

About you

You don’t need to have years and years of experience. We’re looking for someone who’s organised, proactive, comfortable working with people and genuinely motivated by AIEF’s purpose.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • At least one year of experience in student or alumni engagement, program operations or a related area
  • Strong administration and coordination skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation
  • Confidence communicating with different stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to juggle different activities and deadlines
  • Initiative and a willingness to take ownership

Experience within Indigenous education is highly desirable.

Why this role?

This is a lovely opportunity for someone earlier in their career who wants to combine their coordination and people skills with genuinely meaningful work. You could be coming from education, student services, alumni engagement, program coordination, community services, events or the not-for-profit sector. What matters is that you’re organised, relationship-focused and excited by the opportunity to contribute to AIEF’s work.

The role is full-time with Hybrid office attendance in Surry Hills, and reports to the Manager – Alumni Engagement. Travel to meetings, conferences and events will be required as needed.
