Description

Principal Software/Firmware Engineer

This is a full-time on-site role based in our Sydney (North Ryde) office. We’re looking for a very special type of technical person – as the Principal Software/Firmware Engineer at Baraja, you will be responsible for the full stack of software in our LiDAR products, from algorithm signal processing design and implementation to embedded (firmware), and also the visualisation tools and machine learning applied at the output of the data (pointcloud). You will work on our up-and-coming technology, with new-to-world features.

To be successful you will need:

Masters or PhD degree on Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred. Bachelor’s degree minimum requirement, would require to demonstrate equivalence through experience.
Proficiency (min. 10 years) in high-level (e.g. Python) DSP design, simulation, verification, leading to implementation in embedded systems (Xilinx SoC devices – C/C++ and VHDL).
Experience implementing Machine Learning algorithms and the corresponding best practices for the handling of the training data.
Demonstrated commitment to CI/CD and ability to lead the way in our development infrastructure.
Demonstrated technical leadership in Software discipline & collaborative approach across technical disciplines
Australian citizen or valid visa to work in Australia
