The role of an Assistant Service Manager is not just a title. It’s a purpose. As an Assistant Service Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Executive Service Manager in providing exceptional leadership and guidance to our service. Work alongside the Executive Service Manager to ensure the service’s effectiveness in promoting the health, well-being, and holistic development of children and staff, creating enriching educational opportunities. Help lead and inspire the team by mentorship and guiding our staff, fostering educational growth while embracing diversity and a supportive culture.

KEY DELIVERABLES FOR SUCCESS:

• Perform key business administration tasks including rostering, labor management, family account management and e-purchasing

• Maintain a safe environment for children, families, team members, and all visitors

• Support the Executive Service Manager to deliver a collaborative positive culture and Service Vision

• Responsible for the overall management of the Centre during the Executive Service Manager absence

• Use and implement the Where We Grow Practice Guide and support the Executive Service Manager in the leadership of the Centre team to provide high-quality early learning and care that meets or exceeds the NQS

• Build respectful and reciprocal relationships with children, families and team members across the organisation

• Use internal and external networks to ensure children and families have access to appropriate support networks

• Actively support the Centre’s attendance targets by supporting Centre teams to proactively engage with parents to convert and retain families (current and potential)

TO THRIVE YOU WILL NEED:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a 2IC role

• Diploma of Children’s Services / Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood)

• Excellent proven written, verbal and influencing skills

• Sound business administration skills

• Knowledge of rostering

• Energetic, action oriented with a passion for mentoring and inspiring others

• Customer service oriented

• Strong knowledge of Assessment and Rating (A&R), the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) and National Quality Framework (NQF).

• Knowledge of and ability to actively contribute to the service QIP.

• Solutions and ideas focused

• Strong collaborative style

• Kindness, compassion and honest approach in all you do.

• Child Protection Training, valid WWCC and other certificates
