Summary:

We are seeking a passionate, skilled and detail-oriented Learning and Development Advisor (HSE) to join our team, reporting directly into the HSEQ Manager! The incumbent will be responsible for the coordination, development, and delivery of effective learning and development initiatives across all departments at the VICT. This role plays a key part in enhancing our workforce capability, supporting regulatory compliance, and driving professional development working in close collaboration with operations, corporate services, and HR to ensure the training content is engaging, relevant, and aligned with VICT’s safety culture and strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop training programs including: compliance, onboarding, corporate, role-specific, and leadership training, tailored to the operational and strategic needs of VICT.
  • Develop and manage digital learning content using learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools to support scalable, accessible learning delivery.
  • Support employee growth through the identification and facilitation of professional development opportunities, career pathways, and skills enhancement programs.
  • Design training needs analysis for all departments and roles.
  • Develop training materials to upskill our teams in their new equipment and work environment.
  • Collaborate with department managers, subject matter experts, and external providers to assess training needs and deliver tailored learning solutions.
  • Ensure all mandatory training is completed in line with regulatory and company requirements, maintaining accurate training records and audit readiness.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and metrics, using insights to refine and improve future learning initiatives.
  • Align training initiatives with HSE policies and broader corporate objectives, including values, performance management, and diversity and inclusion.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a learning and development role.
  • Experience developing both face-to-face and digital training materials.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory training in operational environments.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a logistics, maritime, or transport industry setting.
  • Knowledge of LMS platforms and e-learning tools such as Articulate, Moodle, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Work Health and Safety legislation and high-risk work training standards.
