Architectural Technician

Our practice, with over 30 years of experience, is a well-established business specialising in retail and commercial projects. TRG operates from 9 office locations across Australia, New Zealand, India, Brazil, and the United Kingdom. We’re seeking a highly skilled Architectural Technician to join our Sydney team in a permanent, full-time basis.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills in architectural documentation, the ability to liaise with clients and consultants, and experience working on retail and commercial projects.

We’re also hiring for an Architectural Technician position based in our Melbourne office. If you’re earlier in your career and passionate about technical design, we’d love to hear from you too.

About the Role:

As an Architectural Technician, you will:

• Preparing architectural documentation, including plans, specifications, and detailed drawings using REVIT and AutoCAD.

• Conducting site surveys and measurements to ensure accuracy and precision.

• Collaborating with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

• Ensuring all documentation complies with the Building Code of Australia (BCA), Australian Standards, and relevant planning processes.

• Contributing to retail store planning and shop fit-out designs.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate has:

• 3+ years of experience as an architectural technician, preferably in retail or commercial sectors.

• A relevant qualification in architecture, building design, or drafting.

• Advanced proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD.

• Strong knowledge of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Australian Standards.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, consultants, and team members.

• A valid driver’s license and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• A proactive and self-motivated attitude with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment.
