About the opportunity

The hospitality team plays a pivotal role in the operations of events at Morphettville racecourse, and the Food & Beverage Supervisors will work together as a team in assisting in the management of the day-to-day delivery of hospitality services.

We have two positions available – one is full-time and one is casual.

You will be required to demonstrate your passion for delivering a high standard of customer service and building strong relationships with key stakeholders. With your proven experience in hospitality, you must demonstrate a superior ability to manage timelines, meet deadlines, anticipate requirement of clients, provide excellent customer service, and have the ability and motivation to drive a dynamic hospitality team.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing strong leadership to the front of house team with clear and respectful communication, and delivery of the smooth operation of events
  • Performing with your co F&B supervisors in communicating the same information to the team so F&B attendants are clear on the vision, and we are working to a common goal
  • Taking ownership of developing, maintaining, communicating and abiding by SOP’s
  • Ensuring the delivery of high standards of customer service
  • Confirming correct number of staffing resources for each event through confirmations, replacing cancelled shifts, ensuring all staff are onsite and briefed
  • Coordinating and managing, in consultation with the F&B operations manager, the roster for all function staff and ensuring the roster is communicated in a timely manner
  • Participating in the recruitment, induction, and onboarding of front of house staff in line with Morphettville SOP’s
  • Developing the skills of the Hospitality Team Leaders through ongoing training and support
  • Conducting performance reviews with direct reports, team leaders and attendants.
  • Coordinating and facilitating ongoing training of FOH staff

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • Proven ability to work as part of a team with a vision of greatness
  • Experience in leading, training and motivating a team
  • Demonstrated experience in a range of hospitality environments
  • Exceptional customer service and customer complaint resolution skills
  • Ability to think on your feet
  • Experience in developing staff rosters and managing a team
  • Ability to prioritise and plan
  • Strong time management skill and organisational skills
  • Must hold a current RSA accreditation and willing to obtain an RP badge
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • The right to work in Australia
