Our Voice Our Choice (OVOC) is a dynamic, established organisation based in the Lower Hunter region, focused on mental health supports, community development, and social inclusion. Our mission is to help people lead independent, fulfilling lives, and we need dedicated Casual Support Workers to help make this happen.
About the Role: As a Casual Support Worker, you’ll be supporting individuals living in SIL houses, assisting with everyday activities, and helping them achieve their goals. You’ll be a key part of a compassionate team, providing care and encouragement to help clients manage their daily routines, stay healthy, and stay connected with the community.
What You’ll Do:
• Provide personal care and assistance with daily activities (such as meal prep, mobility support, and social participation)
• Assist clients with their NDIS goals and promote independence in their daily lives
• Support clients to participate in their local community activities and engage in social opportunities
• Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for clients in SIL houses
• Work closely with a fantastic team to provide person-centered care that makes a real impact on lives
• Build positive relationships with clients, their families, and support networks
What You’ll Bring:
• Experience in the NDIS and/or SIL environment (preferred but not essential)
• Passion for supporting individuals with mental health and disability needs
• Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work casual shifts – each day brings something new and rewarding!
• A desire to empower others and contribute to their journey toward independence and social inclusion
• NDIS Worker Clearance or willing to obtain
• First Aid Certificate or are willing to obtain
• Current Australian Driver’s License
