The opportunity

With an exciting portfolio of ongoing and upcoming projects, we are looking for a Senior Electrical and Instrument Engineer to strengthen our already high performing team.

As a Senior E&I Engineer at Momentum, you will have the opportunity to work with an exceptional team, grow your skills and capabilities across multiple disciplines, with excellent career development opportunities. You will work on projects critical to current and future energy needs and be responsible for project deliverables, including:

  • Brownfield modifications of offshore assets to ensure future reliable operation
  • Renewable hydrogen project development
  • Compression stations to ensure Australian energy grid resilience
  • LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) developments to boost energy security

Responsibilities

  • Perform and check engineering calculations and simulations
  • Prepare, check and sign off technical documentation
  • Engineering input, checking and sign off of design deliverables (documents and drawings)
  • Liaison with Clients and Suppliers
  • Assist Lead Engineer in completing budget and schedule estimates as well as reports
  • Complete engineering tasks within the allocated timeframe to the specified quality level
  • Assist Lead / Principal Engineers to update progress percentage, forecast manhours and forecast completion dates for all deliverables
  • Attend project meetings, internal and external, to support project management and Lead Engineers
  • Attend fortnightly engineering discipline team meeting
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of company procedures for discipline engineering

What will you bring

  • Experience in and with the Oil & Gas industry standards and procedures both onshore and offshore.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, self-drive and initiative, and a passion for E&I engineering with solid Electrical Engineering understanding / knowledge
  • Be Client focused with good attention to detail

  • Respect towards team members and direct line reports
  • Detailed E&I design experience including preparation and checking of typical deliverable

– single line diagrams,

– lists and schedules,

– technical specifications,

– technical reports,

– field instrumentation design and specification,

– hazardous area design and equipment specification, including preparation of IS calculations

– preparation of calculations for cable sizing,

– control systems design,

– electrical systems design including earthing and power distribution (ELV, LV)

– HV system design experience would be considered an advantage

– Capability and experience in supervising and mentoring junior engineers

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical and/or Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent
  • 15+ years experience
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Experience in Oil and Gas Industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of Technical design drafting of Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation interfaces
