About the role
Our business has a growing portfolio of rail projects underway, and we are looking to employ one (1) NOC Engineer to support long term contracts. You would join our Sydney team and be involved in the support, maintenance, and upgrade of our clients GSM-R network.
You will be co-located within our clients Infrastructure Control Centre (ICON) and be the primary point of contact responsible for the resolution of faults on the network. You will be supported by a team of Subject Matter Experts from our Sydney offices.
Responsibilities
- The role involves both scheduled and unscheduled works related to the maintenance of the GSM-R network (Core, RAN, Transmission and Dispatch).
- You will respond to faults via both inbound calls and NMS alerts, troubleshooting incidents on the network.
- You will take responsibility to follow incidents through to resolution, escalating to field technicians or level 3 SMEs as required.
- In addition to proactive management of incidents you will play a key role in contributing ideas to achieve continual improvement of network performance and availability.
- Opportunity to be involved in the future upgrades as the network transitions to newer technologies.
About you
To succeed in the role, you will need a passion for technology coupled with a mindset for collaboration, teamwork, and respect.
Your skills and experience will demonstrate:
- Formal tertiary qualifications in Telecommunications, ICT or Engineering.
- Excellent customer service skills and a desire to achieve continual improvement
- Demonstrable technical proficiency in delivering or supporting 3G or 4G technologies, ideally you will have experience in GSM-R networks.
- A detailed working knowledge of cyber security requirements.
- Ability to work under your own initiative and effectively manage customer and internal relationships.
- Ability to work a 24×7 roster
- Drivers license
