Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that service is at all times performed in a professional manner and to the style as specified by the management team
  • Have a full understanding of all menus and dishes served in the restaurant paying particular attention to allergens to ensure the safety of our guests
  • Have full knowledge and understanding of the Marmelo sequence of service and to follow it at all times
  • Effectively communicate with other restaurant staff and departments
  • Be ready on the restaurant floor in the correct uniform at the time stated on your roster, paying attention to personal hygiene and tidiness as laid out in our grooming standards
  • Ensure all guests’ wishes are met as far as is reasonably possible
  • Complete mise en place, cleaning and service in the restaurant
  • To ensure that all tasks set are completed in the time allocated and to the standard set by the company
  • Report all comments/complaints/problems to the management team
  • All opening, mid-service and closing checklists are completed diligently and filed correctly
  • Ensure waiters stations are ready for service in due time
  • Ensure that service is always discrete, efficient and guest focused
  • Attend all trainings, briefings and meetings that are required
  • To be responsible for the runner’s duties and checking their tasks are being done in a professional manner and to the standards specified by the management team
  • Help to maintain a good working environment within the department and good working relationships with all other departments in the building

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in a fine dining establishment or upscale restaurant is preferred.
  • Skills: Exceptional customer service skills, strong communication abilities, and a polished demeanor.
  • Knowledge: Proficiency in wine service and an understanding of food and beverage pairings.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure all aspects of service meet high standards.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Certification: Completion of Food safety and Responsible service of alcohol
