About the Role
As a GP Medical Educator at Medcast you will report to the Medical Director, and work closely with the CEO of Education and founder A/Prof Stephen Barnett. As a part of the education team, you may be responsible for the design, development and delivery of specific projects and products that are part of the Medcast suite of learning. You may be required to deliver education for GP continuing professional development (CPD), GP training, and strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities
The roles focus on curriculum design and development, and careful and skilful editing of written materials. We are also seeking individuals with the ability to present and lead webinars and podcasts and a news sense, to inform and contribute to engagement and marketing. Allocation of tasks will be determined according to the skill set of successful applicants. The work may include:
● GP CPD – curriculum design, development and delivery for Medcast subscribers and for external partners. This includes webinars, podcasts, written materials and e-learning courses.
● Delivering educational activities such as webinars, podcasts or small group learning seminars.
o Developing case studies to be used in educational interventions.
● Working with contract medical educators and GP and non-GP specialists to deliver education products.
● Working with learning designers, the marketing and website teams to provide the clinical voice to content for all products.
● Providing medical expertise to projects, reviewing and validating educational materials to ensure scientific accuracy and relevance to target audience
● Building and maintaining professional networks to support relationship building with key opinion leaders and relevant stakeholders, such as health professional, consumer and research organisations.
● Curating resources.
● Innovation in use of technology in education.
● Acting as a media spokesperson and external representative to support the implementation of projects and other programs
● Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of educational initiatives through learner feedback, engagement metrics, and clinical outcomes.
● Staying up to date on the latest clinical guidelines, educational trends and healthcare policies to inform program development.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
● A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a GP in a clinical setting and currently working in clinical practice.
● At least 2-3 years’ experience as a medical educator is preferred.
● FRACGP and/or FACRRM
● Full unconditional medical registration with Australia Health Practitioners Regulation Agency [APHRA]
● Higher qualifications in adult education and/or evidenced based medicine/public health viewed favourably
● Vocational Registration
● Demonstrated experience in providing high quality education and training to general practitioners through the general practice professional lifecycle preferred.
● Experience in the design and delivery of CPD initiatives and programs preferred.
● Strong presentation skills and experience presenting webinars and/or face-to-face workshops for GP CPD and/or GP Training.
● Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
● Attention to detail when sourcing and curating relevant learning resources.
● Comfortable working online and the ability to learn how to use new IT programs for various online education activities.
● Excellent computer skill and comfortable using the Google Suite.
