Our Funeral Operations team are looking for community-minded, Casual Funeral Assistants to join our team.
Please note: As we are a funeral home, you will be exposed to deceased people

About the role
This is a casual position. Full time work is not available.
The role of a Funeral Assistant has the following key core components
1. Supporting Funeral Directors to ensure the smooth and efficient running of funeral services.
• meeting and greeting guests and parking management
• operating audio-visual equipment
• preparing and driving funeral vehicles
• cleaning, setting up funeral chapels
• coffin bearing
2. Transporting deceased people into our care and to their place of ceremony and committal with the utmost of respect.
3. Maintenance of our venues and vehicles
• maintaining funeral chapels and equipment
• gardening
• fleet maintenance
Place of work
Across the Illawarra region. Occasional work may be required outside this area.
Hours of work:
A combination of Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will have flexibility and availability across the hours of work.

About you:
You are a mature professional with immaculate personal presentation and excellent communication skills. Passionate about customer service, you’re always willing to go the extra mile in the service of others. You are able to think on your feet, support families in their time of need and work collegially and collaboratively as part of a team. Ideally you have experience in operating basic audio visual equipment or are familiar with technology
Essential criteria:
• Unrestricted NSW drivers license
• Full Australian work rights
• Physical fitness with the ability to comfortably lift up to 50kg from floor to waist height.
• Fully vaccinated against common transmissible diseases, including influenza and covid-19
Desirable criteria:
• Experience in operating audio-visual equipment
• Proficiency in computer and admin skills
