A full-time position has now become available for an experienced Truck Mechanic within our state-of-art workshop. To be effective in this role you must have excellent time management and organisational skills, and a background in Truck Mechanical / Technical Services.
Key responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to:
Inspections – Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
Preventative Maintenance – Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules; installing components and part upgrades; controlling corrosion.
Vehicle Repairs – Corrects vehicle detects by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing components, parts, or systems such as;
- power and drive trains
- electrical
- air-conditioning
- fuel
- emission
- brake
- steering
- hydraulics
Verifies Vehicle Performance – Ensures repairs completed meet roadworthy standards refer to workshop manual by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems. Following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance and repairs.Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
Workshop Equipment – Ensure parts conform to factory specification and equipment to be maintained in serviceable condition at all times. Defective equipment must be “tagged out” and supervisor or manager must be notified.
To be considered for this role you must have:
- 3 years previous experience within the industry.
- Customer Satisfaction.
- Communication skills.
- Must be able to work unsupervised at times and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional service and communication skills, both verbal and written along with computer skills.
- The ability to work in a team & multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Have an honest and efficient work ethics.
- Mechanical knowledge.
Essential qualifications
- Diesel Motor Mechanic.
- Certificate IV in Diesel Mechanical
- Certificate III Automotive Diesel Engine Technology
- Certificate IV in Automotive.
