We have an exciting opportunity as ‘RES921 Unit Coordinator of Master of Research Program’ at Higher Education Leadership Institute (HELI) to be part of our team at HELI in our Melbourne Campus. The Higher Education Leadership Institute (HELI) aims to increase the quality of research projects by its Master of Research Program students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating: coordinating the current RES921 unit which is a research unit for Master of Research (MRes) students: Provide excellence in Higher Education Research.
  • Coordinating: coordinating Master of Research students and their supervisors.
  • Supervising: shared supervision of some of the Master of Research students.
  • Collaboration with Course Coordinator: report to Course Coordinator of Master of Research Program and ECA Learning and Teaching team (if needed).
  • Assessment: Assess the quality of the research projects conducted by students collaboratively with their Principal and Associate Supervisors and the Course Coordinator of Master of Research Program and ensure that research projects of students are genuine ethical, and doable and take into consideration the needs and learning abilities of students.
  • Administration: carry out administrative duties relating to the role of a Unit Coordinator as required.

As the successful candidate you will ideally have:

  • A Higher degree, at PHD level in any research direction.
  • Demonstrated established reputation as a researcher at a higher education level.
  • Demonstrating a considerable track record of peer-reviewed publications and/or conference presentations.
  • Demonstrated a considerable background of higher degree research student supervision.
  • Demonstrated a record of higher education teaching, and assessment experience.
  • Experience in Canvas Learning Management System or an alternative learning management system is needed.
