About The Project:

Position Overview:

  • Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and will need to demonstrate the ability to lead and supervise a team of operatives and shall be responsible for all operational personnel in relation to the required works on a FIFO roster ex Perth
  • Responsible for leading a team of 2 HD Mechs and 1 Serviceperson to achieve project goals and provide a high level of support and supervision on site.
  • Contribute to the development, review and site implementation of Cundaline’s Safety Management Systems, including the Project specific Safety Management Plan and associated programs.
  • To contribute towards minimising the costs to Cundaline, through effective management of site works and efficient use of site resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Leadership assessments.
  • Risk assessments on high-risk activities. Develop SWMS with team operators and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure the required methodologies, JHA’s (job hazard analysis) SWMS’s (safe work method statements), inspections, audits and HSE reports have been prepared and effectively relayed to all site team members.
  • Liaise and work closely with the Site Manager/Project Manager to develop the service schedule and resources’ requirements to complete the works effectively and to the required schedule.
  • Develop a Cyclone Management Plan if needed- working with the client to incorporate site/client specific requirements.
  • Conduct daily prestart meetings with team members and actively participate in weekly toolbox meetings.
  • Complete daily/weekly production reports and submit to Cundaline’s senior Management in a timely manner.
  • Schedule, plan and perform the work activities in an efficient manner.
  • Actively supervise all team operatives and sub-contractors on site and ensure the safe operations of the works.
  • Conduct daily site walks, inspections and observations and complete documentation to support these inspections and observations.
  • Ensure the VOC’s of all Operators on site are completed. This includes any staff who will perform medium (or greater) risk work.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate or Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a HD Mechanical Works Supervisor with Caterpillar/ Volvo, Hino / Isuzu.
  • Minimum of 2+ years proven leadership experience in a supervisory role, with a strong focus on safety, coaching, and development.
  • ICAM / 5WHY’s Investigation experience
  • Proven ability of supporting the implementation of site Health & Safety Management Systems in mining and or construction.
  • Experience with implementing risk management protocols
  • Experience in maintenance planning, condition monitoring, and production strategy alignment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, maintenance planning software, and reporting tools.
  • S26 Supervisor Components completed: (Final exam pass desirable but not essential).
  • BSBWHS411 – Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures & programs.
  • RIIBEF402D – Supervise on site operations.
  • BSBWHS414 – Contribute to WHS risk management or RIIRIS402E – Carry out the risk management process.
  • Certificate IV in Leadership & Management (desirable).
  • Full Australian Working Rights.
  • Current HR Driver’s License (essential).
  • 4WD Certificate.
  • Demonstrated First Fire Attack.
  • FMG / BHP inducted (Highly desirable)
  • Hold a Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card/Blue Card).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
