Reporting to: Acquisition Director
The Principal Acquisition Consultant is a senior, client-facing role within the Acquisition service delivery team. You will be responsible for leading a portfolio of client engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery, maintaining client satisfaction, and supporting strategic and commercial objectives. This role combines hands-on channel expertise with leadership, operational oversight, and commercial awareness.
Reporting to the Acquisition Director, you will collaborate closely with project managers and the sales team to ensure every project is delivered to the highest standard and demonstrates real business value. You’ll also manage a team of senior consultants and play a critical role in supporting internal quality processes and preparing for client renewals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Client Strategy & Relationship Management
- Lead a portfolio of ASO/Paid Acquisition clients, owning strategy, performance, and relationship management
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for assigned clients, ensuring their success and satisfaction
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients
- Work with the Acquisition Director and project strategists to support contract renewal planning and positioning
- Represent the delivery team in key client meetings and QBRs, delivering performance updates and strategic guidance
- Ensure client-facing presentation decks are high-quality, data-led, following our brand guidelines and clearly communicate the value and impact of our engagement
- Review and refine strategic deliverables to ensure they are aligned to client goals
- Monitor client-facing Slack channels to ensure all communications are timely, professional, and clear
Team & Project Leadership
- Manage and mentor a team of senior consultants, including personal development plans and coaching
- Maintain a quality-first approach to all service outputs, working with the Acquisition Director to address any delivery issues
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture learnings and improve future engagements
Expertise & Innovation
- Provide deep subject matter expertise across:
- ASO (App Store Optimization)
- Paid search and social channels for mobile apps including Apple Search Ads, Google App Campaigns, Meta, TikTok
- Mobile DSPs such as Liftoff and Dataseat
- Stay informed of platform changes and best practices and share relevant insights with the wider team
- Identify new strategic opportunities and performance levers for each client
Operational & Risk Management
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure effective tracking of scopes, timelines, and deliverables
- Proactively identify and communicate project risks or blockers, and work with stakeholders on mitigation plans
- Assist the Acquisition Director in preparing for client renewals, ensuring delivery results are effectively positioned
Experience, Skills and Attributes
- 5+ years in mobile user acquisition roles, ideally within an agency, consultancy, or app-focused business
- Hands-on experience with paid search (ASA, Google App Campaigns), paid social (Meta, TikTok), and mobile DSPs
- Solid experience with ASO across iOS and Android
- Strong familiarity with tools such as App Store Connect, Google Play Console, AppsFlyer, Adjust, and Google Analytics
- Proven track record in managing senior client relationships and delivering performance improvements
- Experience leading and developing team members across multiple projects
- Strategic thinker with excellent commercial awareness
- Highly organized, with strong leadership and project management capabilities
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Exceptional attention to detail—able to spot errors, ensure brand consistency, and uphold quality
- Strong storytelling ability using data, visuals, and insights
- Client- and outcome-focused mindset with a proactive and collaborative working style
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-expectation environments
