About the role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping clients with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and community integration.
Our community shifts are typically two to four hours each. You may have the opportunity to work with multiple clients each day doing a variety of tasks.
These shifts are usually in the client’s home or care facility and your experience with a wide range of disabilities will be critical. You will be provided training for any specific tasks or activities if required.
If you enjoy meeting people, working independently and engaging with clients in the style that suits them, this is the role for you!
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients
- Help clients with mobility and transportation needs
- Administer medication and monitor health conditions
- Assist with meal preparation and household tasks
- Develop and implement individualised care plans
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the best possible care for clients
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Experience & Qualifications:
- Qualification in Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (required).
- Minimum of 1-year full-time experience in Australia within Health/Aged Care/Disability Service
- Licenses & Certifications
- Qualification in Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (required).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check ID or ability to obtain one (required).
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate or ability to obtain one (required).
- Current Driver’s License, own car, and comprehensive/third-party insurance (required).
- We are committed to child safety. This role requires compliance with child safety policies and completion of pre-employment checks, including Working With Children Checks.
