Aurora Expeditions—a leader in expedition cruising—has expanded into North America, and we’re looking for a Sales Director to champion our growth in the Midwest Region.

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales – North America, you’ll play a pivotal role in building our geographic footprint, developing strong industry partnerships, and driving sales performance through retail travel advisors and consortia.

This is your chance to join a high-growth brand making waves in the expedition cruise space—and help introduce the wonders of the polar regions and remote destinations to more travelers across the U.S.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to grow brand awareness and revenue through retail travel advisors, wholesale partners, and host agency networks.
  • Leverage your existing industry relationships to grow partnerships, identify new opportunities, and build group business.
  • Represent Aurora Expeditions as a brand ambassador across trade shows, industry events, and in-person sales calls (expect up to 60% travel).
  • Collaborate with the global sales team to align on strategy, messaging, and tools that drive measurable results.
  • Design and deliver impactful sales presentations, training sessions, and marketing initiatives with key agency partners.
  • Use Salesforce CRM to manage sales activities, track progress, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Execute co-op marketing plans and manage travel & entertainment budgets to maximize ROI.
  • Create regionally focused content to boost Aurora’s presence across social media and trade platforms.
  • Drive interest from new partners through outbound efforts and by nurturing marketing-generated leads.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, and ensure sustainability and Aurora’s mission are integrated in every initiative.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the travel industry, preferably in sales or account management roles with retail advisors, consortia, or host agencies.
  • A strong network of retail travel relationships—especially within consortia such as Virtuoso.
  • Proven track record in exceeding sales goals in a territory-based or retail environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with excellent time management and prioritization skills. Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and across time zones with a global team.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for sales calls, events, and trade functions (some evenings/weekends required).
  • Proficient in CRM (Salesforce preferred), MS Office, and comfortable creating compelling sales content.
  • A passion for adventure, expedition travel, and sustainable tourism.
  • Knowledge of expedition cruising or travel to polar regions is a strong plus.
  • Social media savvy is a bonus!

Why Join Aurora Expeditions?
