About the Role

Reporting to the GM Operations, the Field Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in delivering safe, high-quality, and seamless expedition experiences across Aurora’s global voyages. Responsible for overseeing field logistics and our guided Activity Program, this role ensures operational readiness, consistency, and alignment with Aurora’s standards.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, the role supports the expedition team, drives continuous improvement, and leads the delivery of targeted operational training. With a balance of office-based collaboration and some in the field presence, this position is integral to maintaining operational excellence and enhancing the passenger experience as Aurora continues to grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the seamless delivery of voyage logistics and field operations across multiple destinations
  • Oversee the planning, risk management, and execution of our Activity Program (kayaking, snorkeling, alpine hikes, and more)
  • Champion safety, consistency, and passenger satisfaction throughout all expedition experiences
  • Drive operational innovation and continuous improvement in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Deliver targeted operational training programs and support professional development across the expedition team
  • Support and coach direct reports while managing functional budgets and aligning delivery to Aurora’s sustainability commitments

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in expedition travel operations, ideally in the Polar regions
  • Field experience aboard expedition vessels (EL or AEL background a plus)
  • Strong leadership, training, and people management skills
  • Operational expertise in logistics, SOPs, and guided activities
  • Clear communicator with excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strategic mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Commitment to sustainability and respect for natural environments
  • Tertiary qualification in tourism, business, or a related field (an advantage)
  • Familiarity with relevant training standards, MS Office, and CRM systems (Salesforce a bonus)
