Play a unique role in overseeing the operation of advanced renewable energy assets by joining our Townsville team keeping our solar farm and hydrogen site running strong.
The Role
As the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager reporting to the Head of Commercial, Strategy & Operations and ideally located in Townsville, you will ensure our large solar farm and hydrogen facility are operated safety, efficiently and cost effectively. You’ll ensure asset integrity, optimise plant performance, and lead a team of technical professionals and contractors at our Townsville facilities, while continuing to grow the asset base more broadly across our other locations throughout Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the solar PV plant and hydrogen refuelling station to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
- Lead and coordinate all preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Manage asset compliance with WHS, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Engage and manage third-party service providers, contractors, and OEMs
- Monitor asset performance data, conduct root cause analyses, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive safety leadership across site operations and promote a strong safety culture
- Lead site readiness for emergency response, inspections, and audits
- Manage O&M budgets, forecasting, and reporting to senior leadership
About You
You’re a skilled operations leader with deep experience in renewable energy or process plant operations. You thrive in complex, multi-technology environments and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to your work.
You’ll bring:
- Either a Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical), or a Queensland Electrical/Fitter Mechanic licence, or similar experience
- Solid understanding of high voltage (HV) systems, with experience managing HV infrastructure in operational environments
- Experience in operations & maintenance of utility-scale energy or process facilities
- Prior exposure to solar PV and/or hydrogen facilities (highly desirable)
- Proven leadership of teams (including remote) and contractors
- Strong knowledge of WHS, environmental, and energy regulatory compliance
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
