About the Plant

Commissioned in May 2023 by GR Engineering Ltd, the Mt. Ida Gold Processing Plant is a modern CIL facility built for flexibility, recovery and throughput. With a multiple-pit feed strategy, we crush ore to a fine grind of 45 microns to ensure optimal gold recovery.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team on an 8:6 roster. You will support the maintenance and reliability of our 1.5 Mtpa CIL processing plant, ensuring safe and efficient operation of mechanical equipment.

Duties

  • Routine inspections & preventative maintenance on fixed plant: crusher, conveyors, chutes, tanks
  • Identify potential mechanical issues before failure
  • Respond to equipment failures to minimise downtime
  • Diagnose mechanical faults using tools and schematics
  • Install new equipment or modify existing plant infrastructure when required
  • Align and test new mechanical systems during upgrades or shutdowns
  • Log maintenance tasks in the management system (Pronto)
  • Report defects, safety concerns, and part usage
  • Conduct JHAs and take part in daily pre-start meetings
  • Adhere to site-specific safety policies and procedures

Qualifications and Skills

  • Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with previous experience in mining fixed plant (Gold highly desirable)
  • Current Australian manual drivers’ licence
  • National Police Clearance
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights.
  • Strong commitment to safety and preventative maintenance
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small, close-knit team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute across departments
