We are looking for a driven IT Systems Administrator to play a key role in maintaining and supporting our infrastructure while assisting in the implementation of new technology initiatives.
You’ll work closely with our IT Manager to support ongoing projects and be the go-to expert for systems administration, user support, and training. If you enjoy blending hands-on tech work with strategic problem-solving, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact across our business.
What you’ll do:
- Monitor, configure, and maintain Tonkin’s IT infrastructure to ensure high standards of data security and network integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, software, and hardware issues, escalating when required.
- Provide Level 2/3 support to staff across multiple sites and lead improvements in Helpdesk resolution times.
- Assist with the planning and rollout of new IT projects, systems, and processes.
- Provide technical training and support to team members on internal systems and applications.
- Oversee Azure and Microsoft 365 support, maintain licensing and vendor relationships.
- Perform security audits, manage backups and disaster recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with IT policies.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation and contribute to a central knowledge base.
What you bring:
- Proficiency with Windows Server environments and experience with Linux operating systems.
- Strong command-line skills and scripting ability (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python).
- Proficient in managing Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms like VMware and Hyper-V.
- Solid understanding of network configuration, firewalls, site-to-site VPN, switching, WAN and SD-WAN.
- Ability to support cybersecurity practices and solutions such as XDR, email security, privilege management and SIEM.
- Capable of adapting to and working efficiently with ERP systems, SharePoint, and related business applications.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot Azure-related issues and implement cloud-based solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide effective support and training.
- A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to innovation and process improvement.
Job location
This role is based at Tonkin’s state-of-the-art head office in Adelaide’s CBD. Flexible/work-from-home arrangements may also be possible.
