Description

Do you enjoy working in a diverse and dynamic workforce?

Do you have a passion for supporting people with disability to lead a more independent life?

Do you share our values of Integrity, Connectedness, Individuality and Courage?

About us:

We are The Bridge Incorporated! We are a progressive, innovative, and values-based organisation that provides a variety of support services to individuals with disability, and young people experiencing disadvantage, across the Northern and South-Eastern suburbs. The Bridge was founded by community to address the gaps facing locals with a disability, and more than fifty years later we are as committed as we were then to our mission of “transforming lives through empowerment, choice, support, advocacy and connections to home, work and community” and pursuing our vision of a “connected society where people of all abilities achieve their full potential”!

We’re growing! We’re dynamic! We’re seeking great people with passion and an innovative edge to join us. We’re seeking Disability Support Workers for our Day Services, Your Supports and Getaways programs at The Bridge with immediate work available (following onboarding procedures) as well as shifts starting in the new year.

About our services:

The main objectives of the role is to provide high quality supports to participants in a variety of activities in the community and at home, whilst promoting independence and inclusion in the community, and our services include Day Services, Your Supports, and Getaways.

Our Day Services are located across about North and South-Eastern suburbs, and we are currently seeking Support Workers to join our Dandenong, Springvale South, Narre Warren, Berwick, Pakenham, and Cranbourne locations. Here we support our participants to work towards their NDIS goals while providing individual and group support including personal care, manual handling and behavioural support. Service hours are between Monday and Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm, making it great for achieving a work/life balance. Better yet, no day is the same! One day you might be providing 1:1 support to a participant, the next you may be supporting a group on a cooking program or at rock n roll dancing! One thing is for sure, you won’t be bored! Our staff are friendly and inviting, and our Service Coordinators who manage the Day Services have a wealth of industry experience and knowledge, making for a great atmosphere for further learning and support!

Our Your Supports Team offer support to our participants on an individual or group basis, which may involve in-home support, such as assisting with duties around the house and undertaking of daily routines, or supporting them to be out and about, hitting the gym, park, shops, events and more! Some shifts are transport focused, and involve shuttling* participants to and from their destinations, which is ideal for those who have limited availability, or only able to commit to short timeframes. Our Getaways Team is involved with facilitating holidays, weekends away and day activities for participants, providing the opportunity for respite, and social engagements, of which both participants and Support Workers have a lot of fun! Working within the Your Supports and Getaways Teams is a great option for those seeking flexibility in their lifestyle, as this underpins the nature of the service. Both services support participants across the South-Eastern suburbs, and may be in either a one on one setting, providing individualised support, Some participants require assistance on a once-off basis, whilst others may have ongoing and more regular support needs over a period of time, depending on the needs and goals of the participant, and as such, there is the opportunity to be involved in whatever capacity you are able to commit to! Whether your preference is working throughout the week, or weekends, mornings or nights, our Your Supports and Getaways Teams have shifts for you, with Your Supports providing support all week around, and our Getaways Team active from Friday to Sunday!
