The Role

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations and staff at the 1300TempFence warehouse. This includes managing the dispatch and receipt of all orders. The role ensures smooth warehousing and distribution by implementing operational policies and procedures set by management. The Warehouse Supervisor also ensures quality standards, delivery targets, and budget goals are consistently met.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Must be very hands-on, actively involved in day-to-day warehouse operations

Ensure adherence to warehouse operational standards and requirements

Schedule and manage the movement of materials, machinery, stock, and tools to and from the warehouse; update and maintain the tool register

Coordinate inventory transfers with relevant departments

Organize and maintain storage areas, ensuring efficient use of floor space and recommending improvements

Secure the warehouse by activating alarms, and ensuring it is locked and properly secured at the end of the day

Enforce operating procedures, troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, and arrange for preventative maintenance and repairs when required

Perform forklift duties, including loading/unloading trucks and moving stock around the warehouse

Brief staff on materials to be loaded and items to be assembled for delivery

Communicate with staff to make schedule adjustments based on changes affecting the delivery timeline

Review documents for accuracy and prepare additional documentation as needed

Manage the receipt and dispersal of materials, assisting warehouse staff when necessary

Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and organized at all times

Strictly adhere to all OH&S policies and procedures

Perform general warehouse management duties as required

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a similar position, with a strong background in warehouse operations

• Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to manage staff and foster a collaborative team environment

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, completing tasks autonomously

• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods as part of the role

• Current Forklift License (compulsory)

• Solid understanding of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) practices and regulations

• Accurate data entry and record-keeping skills

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities

• Professional presentation with excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a moderate level of computing skills

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

• Physically fit and capable of meeting the demands of the role
