Description

Senior HR Advisor

Be the expert. Support the team. Make a difference.

Are you an experienced HR professional ready to take the next step in your career? Do you enjoy supporting managers, solving people-related challenges and helping others develop their skills?

At Inspiring Support, we’re looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Senior HR Advisor to play a key role in delivering a professional, people-focused HR service across our organisation. We’re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a project and putting their ideas into practice. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape and develop our HR department, bringing fresh ideas, improving processes and making a lasting difference as the organisation grows.

Working within a CQC-regulated care environment, you’ll help ensure our people are supported, our employment practices remain compliant, and our teams have the guidance they need to deliver high-quality care.

 What will you be doing?

 Providing expert HR advice

  • Advise managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, absence management, performance, capability and flexible working.
  • Support investigations, meetings and hearings, promoting fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes.

Keep up to date with employment legislation, HR best practice and changes affecting the organisation.

Supporting and developing the HR team

  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and mentoring to HR colleagues.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for more complex HR queries, working closely with the HR Manager.
  • Share knowledge, build confidence and encourage continuous improvement across the team.

Leading on recruitment and workforce planning

  • Oversee recruitment processes, ensuring vacancies are filled efficiently and safer recruitment practices are followed.
  • Support managers with recruitment and selection.
  • Monitor recruitment activity and workforce trends, helping improve staff retention, engagement and workforce stability.

Maintaining quality and compliance

  • Help ensure our HR practices meet employment law, GDPR, safeguarding and CQC requirements.
  • Support workforce audits, inspections and improvements to HR policies, procedures and documentation.
  • Contribute to a safe, effective and well-led care environment.

 Developing your leadership skills

  • Work closely with the HR Manager to build your management and leadership experience.
  • Attend staff supervisions and appraisals alongside the HR Manager to learn and develop your skills.
  • Access training and development opportunities, with the potential to take on additional management responsibilities over time.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who wants to broaden their experience and progress towards greater leadership responsibility.

 What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is confident, approachable and passionate about delivering a high-quality HR service.

You will ideally have:

  • A CIPD Level 5 qualification, an equivalent HR qualification, or be working towards one.
  • Significant experience in an HR Advisory role.
  • Strong experience advising managers on employee relations matters.
  • Knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practice and safer recruitment.
  • An understanding of CQC requirements, workforce compliance, GDPR and confidentiality.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, workforce planning and junior HR colleagues.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining professionalism, discretion and integrity.

It would be a bonus if you also have:

  • A CIPD Level 7 qualification.
  • Experience in health and social care, including domiciliary care, supported living or residential care.
  • Experience supporting organisational change or analysing workforce data and producing HR reports.
