Associate Tutor – Teaching Faculty

Are you an experienced teacher trainer who enjoys marking coursework? learndirect is looking for associate tutors to mark coursework and support learner queries for our distance learners, working from home and fitting the work around your other commitments.

We’re recruiting for each of the subjects below. You don’t need to cover all of them, so apply for the one or more that match your expertise.

The subjects

Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (Further Education and Skills)
Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance
Level 3 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

What you’ll do

mark learners’ assignments accurately and consistently against the awarding body’s assessment objectives
give clear, constructive written feedback that helps learners understand their marks and how to develop their skills
follow JCQ and awarding body rules on authentication, malpractice and the use of AI
complete marking within agreed turnaround times, especially during busy periods ahead of submission deadlines
take part in internal standardisation and quality assurance so marks hold up at moderation
keep accurate records in our online systems
support learner queries via email

About you

Essential:

a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, CAVA or equivalent, as relevant to the qualification applied for)
recent experience marking for the specification(s) you’re applying for
a thorough understanding of the relevant assessment objectives
reliable, organised and able to meet deadlines while working independently
confident with online systems, with your own computer and a reliable internet connection
a valid and current DBS certificate

Desirable:

experience teaching distance learners

What we offer

£3.50 to £6 per marked assignment
Fully remote, flexible work that you can fit around teaching or other commitments
support and standardisation from our faculty team

Eligibility

This is a remote role, but you must live in England and already have the right to work in the UK. You must also hold a valid and current DBS certificate. We’re unable to offer visa sponsorship.
