Stride Early Learning is seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Cook to join our dynamic team! Child Care Cook is responsible for preparing healthy, balanced and culturally appropriate meals for children aged 0-6 years in an early childhood service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals for children.
• Plan menus considering dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.
• Collaborate with educators and families to meet individual dietary needs.
• Maintain kitchen and food handling areas, ensuring a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent
• Valid Working with Children Check clearance
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Cook position in an Early Childhood Service/ Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Cook position
Essential Criteria:
• In-depth knowledge of food safety and handling guidelines.
• Proven ability to plan menus, meet nutritional requirements and work within budget constraints while maintaining meal quality.
• Strong understanding of children’s nutritional needs.
• Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation.
• Demonstrated expertise in food handling practices and ensuring food safety.
