About the Role:
As a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll be essential in maintaining and repairing our JP Rentals vehicles across Paisley and the surrounding areas, operating from our Paisley Depot (PA3 2RP). Your work will involve diagnosing and fixing issues both on the roadside and at customer sites. This is a hands-on role where your expertise ensures vehicles are safe, reliable, and fully operational, always ready for hire. You’ll work independently but also collaborate with a team, ensuring the highest standards of service and safety are maintained
How This Role Supports the Delivery of Hire Solutions:
Your skills ensures JP Rentals operates smoothly by minimising vehicle downtime and ensuring the fleet is always roadworthy. By keeping our vehicles in top condition, you directly support the delivery of reliable, high-quality hire solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction and fleet availability. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair issues on a variety of vehicles, both roadside and at customer sites.
- Carry out routine services like oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Address engine management, electrical systems, braking systems, and more.
- Ensure vehicles meet required standards and pass inspections.
- Test replaced parts to verify proper function.
- Comply with legal and safety regulations.
- Identify potential wear and tear during inspections.
- Work efficiently with team members to complete tasks on time.
- Report concerns to the Rentals Manager and/or Workshop Manager.
- Assist with workshop and depot repairs when needed.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism and care.
What Will Make You a Great Fit:
- NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on multi-fleet vehicles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently.
- Attention to detail, ensuring vehicle safety and high-quality work.
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
- Proactive approach with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Comfort working independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
