Getting started

How do I log in to my HR Platform?

You should now have received your log-in details for your HR Platform.

Any issues finding your log-in information, follow these steps to reset your password and access the platform:
1. Go to the sign in page
2. Click “forgot password?”
3. Enter your email address
4. Tick the reCAPTCHA box
4. Click the “Request Link” button
5. Go to your email inbox and open the email with subject “reset password instructions”
7. Click the link in the email. You will be directed to a page in Employment Hero
7. Enter your new password into the box
8. Click “Update Password”

How do I assign an admin in the platform to help with the set-up?

When you log into Employment Hero for the first time you will be taken through our onboarding wizard, which will give you the opportunity to add additional admins to the platform. If you need to complete this step at a later stage, these steps and help centre articles will also assist.

  1. How do I quick-add an employee? (if they are not already in the platform)
  2. Assign admin access to a user
  3. Logging in: If your platform is in set-up mode, the invitation email will not be generated (as set up mode prevents emails being sent from the platform). You have two options so that these users can login:
    1. Add Early Adopters in setup mode
    2. Request the users to reset their password
How long will my implementation take?

Your implementation is dependant on your own commitment and availability to complete the set-up.

Our journey is designed so that you set-up the basics of your platform first and invite your employees as soon as possible to ensure you are getting immediate value from the platform.

As a reward for launching Employment Hero to your employees within 30 days, your organisation will be credited 5000 Hero Points.

What milestones do I need to complete?

As a reward for launching Employment Hero to your employees within 30 days, your organisation will receive 5000 Hero Points. 

To be eligible to receive the Hero Points, customers should achieve the following by their Project Completion Deadline:

  • Have at least 70% of their employees actively using the platform
  • Set-up any four features milestones. 
    • Upload a minimum of 1x HR document
    • Make a Company Announcement
    • Setup at least one Company Value
    • Create a Certification and assign this to an employee record
    • Add a Policy to the system
    • Create an Onboarding Checklist
    • Create your Performance Review template and relevant review period
    • Add a minimum of one Asset
    • Create a Security Group
How do I track my milestone progress?

When you are logged into Employment Hero on your dashboard you will head to ‘Feature Guides’. Here you will see how many milestones you have completed, what is remaining and what your deadline is. On this page you will also see a list of activities to assist with your platform set up, those with a star next to it account for a milestone activity. You can use the ‘Milestones’ filter to view all the available milestone tasks

Week One

It’s time to get started! Below are the tasks you’ll need to complete in week one.

Navigating Employment Hero

This video will help familiarise you with the Employment Hero platform and prepare you for your first workshop. Duration: 6 mins

Loading your Employees

If you have integrated with Employment Hero Payroll or XERO, select the EH Payroll/XERO link below. Duration: 7-14 mins

Setting Up Teams & Management Reporting Lines

Organise your employees in to Reporting Lines and Teams. Duration: 9 mins

Loading Independent Contractors

Load independent contractors in to your platform. Note: contractors must be loaded one by one: Duration: 15 minutes

Managing Policies

Utilise Employment Hero policy templates, add in your organisations policies and assign policies to employees. Duration: 2 mins

Upload Existing HR Documents

Upload your employees existing HR documents to their employee file. Duration: 2 mins

Week Two

Now you’ve completed the week one tasks it’s time to start setting up more advanced features

Prepare your Document Templates

Create templates using our Advanced Editor or PDF Editor tools and set-up your authorising signatory. Duration: 7 mins

Set-up your Custom Security Groups

Grant custom access to areas of the platform with Custom Security Settings. Duration: 3 mins

Setting Up Time Off/Leave

Set-up leave types and leave policies. Adjust your employees time off balances and finally set-up your public holiday calendar . Duration: 12 mins. 

Managing Time Off/Leave

Learn about the Time Off Management tab, how to approve and decline requests and request your own time off/leave. Duration: 7 mins

Create your Onboarding & Offboarding Checklists

The checklist settings feature allows you to trigger tasks automatically that require you and other stakeholders’ attention on the onboarding and offboarding of an employee. Duration: 3 mins

Create your Custom Fields (Additional Information)

The Custom Fields feature lets you customise onboarding with the ability to ask a free text, single-select, or multi-select question with answers viewable in the employee file. Duration: 2 mins

Week Three

Set-up your Certification Requirements

Certification Settings allow you to manage your organisation’s certifications and request supporting documents, like driving licences. Duration: 4 mins

Onboard a New Employee

Enhance your new employees’ onboarding experience with Employment Hero’s paperless onboarding process. Duration: 4 mins.

Use the Company Feed to Update your Employees

Use the Company Feed to welcome your employees to the platform and learn how to give a shout out, recognise a colleague or post a company announcement. Duration: 1 min
