Groundsperson

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Groundsperson to join our golf course maintenance team. This role involves assisting in the grow-in of new playing areas and the ongoing maintenance, care, and upkeep of golf course surfaces and landscapes. The ideal candidate will contribute to the health and beauty of the course, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the grow-in, maintenance, renovation, and construction of turf and landscaped areas.

• Perform various tasks such as mowing, aeration, rolling, top dressing, seeding, turfing, and sprigging, as well as planting and caring for trees and shrubs.

• Operate and maintain all maintenance equipment safely.

• Apply fertilizers and pesticides under supervision, maintaining accurate application records.

• Lead less experienced staff as needed, including other Groundspersons and Apprentices.

• Ensure the golf course maintenance facility is kept clean, neat, and orderly at all times.

• Maintain a neat personal appearance, wearing the provided uniform and PPE at all times.

• Work rostered weekend shifts and overtime when required for course maintenance.

• Follow workplace health, safety, and environmental policies and standards.

• Attend staff development training and make efforts to maximize learning opportunities.

Requirements:

• Experience in groundskeeping, turf management, or related field is preferred but not essential; training provided.

• Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely and effectively.

• Basic knowledge of fertilization and pesticide applications (supervised training provided).

• Commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and environmental standards.

• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Flexibility to work weekend shifts and overtime as scheduled.
