As our RTO Compliance Officer, you’ll be the driving force behind maintaining our Registered Training Organisation’s (RTO) gold-standard compliance with Australian regulations. From internal audits and policy updates to ensuring our trainers are up-to-date and our data is clean, you’ll play a central role in delivering trusted, top-tier training to both our Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) Club Members and commercial clients.

What You’ll Do:
- Keep us aligned with the VET Quality Framework, including the Standards for RTOs 2015, the Australian Qualifications Framework, and other legislative requirements.
- Lead and support our ongoing preparation for the transition to the new Standards for RTOs 2025.
- Lead internal audits, marketing reviews, and implement action plans to fix any compliance gaps.
- Prepare and submit annual reports for stakeholders like QFES, QPS, and SLSA.
- Monitor training quality and help develop new learning resources that are compliant and adult learner–friendly.
- Oversee compliance across key systems: our Student Management System (aXcelerate) and Learning Management System (LMS).
- Keep digital learning content up-to-date and aligned with training package requirements.
- Maintain our public education platforms and ensure all advertising meets NVR standards.
- Review and enhance RTO policies, procedures, and operational practices regularly.
- Provide training and support to staff on all things quality and compliance.
- Champion continuous improvement by collecting feedback, identifying areas for growth, and implementing smart solutions.
- Work with internal teams and external bodies to ensure our education delivery is always industry-relevant.
- Support course transitions, qualification updates, and changes to units of competency.
- Communicate compliance updates clearly to all relevant stakeholders and help shape internal policy direction.
- Ensure timely submission of all compliance-related reports like AVETMISS, Quality Indicator Reporting, and Client Contracts.
- Take on special projects as directed by the Head of Education.
About You:
- Hold a Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one).
- TAE50111 Diploma or TAE40116 Cert IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent).
- 3+ years’ experience in an RTO environment.
- Strong knowledge of the VET sector, ASQA standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Confident with internal audits, risk management, and closing compliance gaps.
- Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and everything in between.
- Comfortable using MS Office and instructional software.
- Experience with aXcelerate or similar Student Management Systems.
- A natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Great at juggling priorities, solving problems, and keeping calm under pressure.
