The Learning and Development Manager will lead the design, development, and implementation of impactful learning programs that align with the organisation’s goals and foster a culture of continuous growth. This role oversees the Training and Assessment (TAE) program portfolio, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across Queensland and other states.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead course design and development for the Learning and Development division.
- Manage and coordinate TAE trainers across Surf Life Saving Queensland and for other states.
- Conduct training needs analysis to assess departmental and organisational growth needs.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to meet organisational objectives.
- Stay current with training trends and innovative learning technologies.
- Ensure compliance with RTO standards and Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) requirements.
- Facilitate engaging training programs both in-person and virtually (including after-hours).
- Tailor training courses to meet Surf Life Saving’s unique needs and industry standards.
- Update and manage course content within the Learning Management System (LMS), aXcelerate.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with key partners and identify growth opportunities.
About You:
- Working with Children Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one).
- TAE50111, TAE50116, or equivalent qualifications in Vocational Education and Training.
- Experience in developing and delivering nationally recognised training courses.
- Minimum 3 years in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Strong understanding of RTO standards and operations.
- Experience in eLearning frameworks and LMS.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office.
- Commitment to child safety principles and fostering a positive learning environment.
- Leadership and people development experience.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work after-hours and weekends on occasions.
- Surf Life Saving Club experience (highly desirable).
