Our Hotel

With traditional heritage architecture and a vintage sandstone facade, the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Sydney offers an elegant stay in the civic heart of the CBD. Once home to the Fairfax newspaper empire and the prestigious Bank of New South Wales, our historical building now accommodates business travelers and vacation guests from all over the world. We are a short stroll from prestigious restaurants and bars, luxury shopping, and iconic sites such as the Sydney Opera House, the Queen Victoria Building, and Martin Place.

The Role

A great opportunity for a skilled, diligent and friendly Handyperson to join our welcoming and diverse workplace. In this role you will be part of a small, tight-knit team and contribute in the maintenance and repair of our well-maintained heritage-listed hotel. You will be responsible for a wide range of repairs and preventative maintenance work in and around the property to ensure that our hotel is operating in peak condition. A trade qualification is not necessarily required, however advantageous. *Please note this is a part-time opportunity only (3-4 shifts per week).

About You

  • Previous experience as a Handyperson in hotels, apartments, hospitals or shopping centres is preferred
  • Experience in leading and utilising your knowledge in Work, Health & Safety practices
  • Able to safely lift up to 15kg
  • Motivated to meet deadlines, take initiative and have the ability to work well under pressure
  • Experience with tile grouting and painting will be viewed extremely favourably
  • Disconnect-Reconnect certification highly desirable

Shifts

  • Mostly Monday – Friday shifts, occasional weekend shift to cover leave
  • Monday to Friday 07:00 – 15:00 or 13:00 – 21:00
  • Weekend: 09:00 – 20:00

Pay rates

Our rates are as per the Hospitality Industry General Award (Level 3, hourly rate $25.80 + super).
